Our History, in date order

1997 — the year of RUSSAIR’s foundation. Since then the company’s main objectives have been operation and rent of business jets and helicopters in Russia and CIS countries.

1998 — RUSSAIR signed the agreement of intent with the leading European helicopter manufacturer Franco-German Eurocopter Group. The first foreign helicopter AS350 BA was delivered by our company, and it was registered in the Russian State Civil Aircraft Registry. Its number is RA-04101 (“04” meaning light aircraft, “01” — the first aircraft of this kind in the Registry).

1999 — RUSSAIR was granted dealership for the Russian Federation territory by the American manufacturer of light helicopters — Robinson Helicopter Company. Next year the first R44 helicopter was imported into Russia, prompting the development of Robinson dealership network in our country.

1998 — 2000 — RUSSAIR took part in the exercises of the Russian Customs Committee, also it provided assistance to the Ministry of Emergency Situations in search for oil spills in the water environment and in patrolling of woodlands.

2003 — Our company started the operation of twin-engine Eurocopter AS355 N helicopters, which were officially approved for flights above the city.

2005 — RUSSAIR continued to develop its cooperation with aircraft manufacturers, one of which was AgustaWestland, Italy.

2006 — The VIP АW109 POWER helicopter was introduced to the Russian market. In October the first technical flight over Saint-Petersburg (Pulkovo — Peter and Paul Fortress — Pulkovo) took place. To implement it, enormous efforts were spent for flight- and maintenance crews training and delivery of all equipment required for helicopter maintenance.

2007 — RUSSAIR celebrated its 10-year anniversary with other achievements. The first Eurocopter EC145 (BK117 C-2) helicopter to be imported into Russia was delivered in spring. Thanks to joint efforts of State Transport Company «Rossiya» and RUSSAIR a new type of aircraft was entered into the Air Operator Certificate. A hangar to hold and maintain the aircraft was constructed on the territory of Pulkovo airport. The Engineering-Aviation Service (EAS) of RUSSAIR was granted a certificate from the Russian aviation authorities for the AS355 N aircraft, ARRIUS 1A engine maintenance.

2008 — An addition on activities extension was introduced into the Maintenance Compliance Certificate. The EAS was approved for the EC145 (BK117 C-2) helicopter, ARRIEL 1 E2 engine maintenance.

2010 — RUSSAIR was issued the Air Operator Certificate for General Aviation.

2011 — Three more aircraft types were entered  into RUSSAIR’s AOC: the Eurocopter EC155 B1 helicopter, AgustaWestland AW109 helicopter and Dassault Falcon 7X business jet. The EAS of RUSSAIR was issued the corresponding Type Certificates.

2012 — Opening of RUSSAIR's branch in Moscow  (Sheremetyevo, Terminal A). The maintenance of the  helicopters based in Moscow Oblast was ensured by the field maintenance crew.

2013 — RUSSAIR won the tender of Leningrad Oblast authorities, and following the delivery of the AS350 B3 helicopter furnished with search and rescue equipment, FLIR and emergency floatation landing gear, started operation of this aircraft as it had been issued the certificate for SAR operation.

2013 — The fleet of RUSSAIR was enlarged with the AgustaWestland AW139  and AW109SP helicopters, which were entered into RUSSAIR’s AOC. The EAS was issued the Type Certificates for the maintenance of these helicopters.

2014 — RUSSAIR was approved for commercial air transport (AOC № 553, dd. 14.03.2014) and was issued the commercial licenses for passenger and cargo transportation.

2014 — The helipad “KAD-52” equipped with approach lights, the heated helicopter hangar were constructed in Leningrad Oblast.

2014 — RUSSAIR was issued Certificates by the Russian CAA confirming the compliance with the requirements for acquisition, processing and analysis of flight data for the AgustaWestland AW139 and Airbus Helicopters EC145 (ВК117 С-2) aircraft.

2015 — The company’s fleet was enlarged with the home-made Мi-8МТV-1 helicopter produced in 2015. This aircraft type was entered into RUSSAIR’s AOC and EAS Maintenance Compliance Certificate.

2015 — RUSSAIR’s Engineering-Aviation Service (EAS) was issued a Compliance Certificate enabling implementation of line and periodical maintenance of the company’s helicopters at the “KAD-52” helipad facilities, Leningrad Oblast.

2015 — The EAS was issued a Compliance Certificate i.a.w. which the line maintenance of the company’s main aircraft types at Sheremetyevo airport is enabled.

2015 — RUSSAIR was issued a Compliance Certificate evidencing compliance with the requirements for organization of acquisition, processing and analysis of the Airbus Helicopters EC155 B1 aircraft flight data at civil airline facilities.

2016 — RUSSAIR was granted a license of Rostransnadzor (Federal Service for Supervision in the Sphere of Transport) for aircraft repair at all sites of EAS operation.
